Make sure
ProjectWise Administrator is installed. If you
plan to set up an example datasource, install
ProjectWise Administrator with the
ProjectWise Example Dataset option turned on.
Open ProjectWise Administrator:
On Windows 8 or later /
Windows Server 2012 or later:
Go to the
Start
page and type
ProjectWise Administrator,
or go to
Start > Apps > Bentley
and click
ProjectWise Administrator.
When ProjectWise Design Integration Server and ProjectWise Administrator are installed on the same computer,
the server's computer name is automatically registered and displayed under the
Servers node when you open ProjectWise Administrator. If you want to create a datasource
on a ProjectWise Design Integration Server that is not displayed in ProjectWise Administrator, you need to register the name or
IP address of the ProjectWise Design Integration Server computer. To do this,
right-click the
Servers node in ProjectWise Administrator and select
Register Server. Type the computer name or IP
address of the computer on which ProjectWise Design Integration Server is installed and
running, then click
Finish.
When the datasource is created, the
Applications
node in ProjectWise Administrator is automatically populated using the information contained
in the delivered
APPINFO.XML
file (...\ProjectWise\bin). You can edit this file as
needed before you create a datasource. You can also simply make changes to the
Applications node (create, modify, delete applications) after the datasource is
created through
ProjectWise Administrator. Finally, you can
also export the current applications to an XML file after the datasource is
created, edit the file as needed, and then re-import it through the
Applications node.
For details, see
Exporting, Editing, and
Importing Application Definitions.
